These functions are linear transformations of the cone fundamentals of Stockman & Sharpe (2000) endorsed by the CIE as the CIE (2006) physiologically-relevant LMS fundamental colour matching functions. The CMFs are given to 7 sf, and the chromaticiy coordinates are given to 5 dp. The official CIE definition is the version provided at 1-nm steps. At this stepsize, the three CMFs have precisely equal integrals, and therefore an equal-energy white has a chromaticity of 0.333, 0.333. Versions are also provided at stepsizes of 0.1 and 5 nm. Alternatively, these functions can be calculated by linear transformation of the LMS cone fundamentals (tabulated in linear, energy units to 9 sf, which can be found here). Please note that these are proposals that have yet to be ratified by the full TC 1-36 committee. The z CMFs are simply the S-cone fundamentals proposed originally by Stockman, Sharpe & Fach (1999). The y CMFs are the luminous efficiency functions proposed by Sharpe et al. (2011). The derivation of the x CMFs owes much to the work of Jan Henrik Wold.
