Stockman, Sharpe & Fach (1999) lens density spectrum also in Stockman & Sharpe (2000)

Data key

Columns
  1. Wavelength (nm)
  2. Lens density

Notes

Tabulated at 0.1, 1 or 5 nm steps. The 0.1 and 1 nm functions were obtained by the interpolation of the 5 nm functions using a cubic spline. Slightly adjusted version of the lens density spectrum of van Norren & Vos (1974) by Stockman, Sharpe and Fach (1999).  The small adjustments to the lens density spectrum yield smooth curves when the Stockman and Sharpe (2000) 2-deg or 10-deg cone fundamentals are corrected to cone photopigment curves.  Without this small correction, the photopigment curves have a clear discontinuity in the violet.

These values are for a small pupil. For an open pupil, divide by 1.16.
